Situated near Cairo, the Great Sphinx is a monumental sculpture situated on the Giza plateau which has no more than 20 meters high and 73 meters length.
Nowadays, the Sphinx appeard  to  many people as a great mistery.It has stood guard since about 2500 B.C.
The Sphinx has stirred the imagination of  children, adventurers and tourists for centuries, which also reveal things about its age .
For tourists, it means a great mistery because of its body’s components: wings of a bird, the body of a lion and the head of a woman .It was recently, because hundred of years ago, its head was of a lion. Geologists realized that its body was too big for the woman’s head which was sculptured by egyptian people to receive that look.
The egyptian legends said that under the pyramid there are some labyrinths where tourists or even geologists can get lost for months.
Definetly, travelling here means to be in contact with egyptian culture, its history, which has a lot of things needed to be discovered.
The Great Sphinx is believed to be the hugest stone sculpture from the world.
To maintain its forme, were added more than 1500 limestone blocks and chemicals to the ‘s body, but it didn’t work.Even now, people try to repair the damaged shoulders with blocks, but keeping its original size.
