Ibiza Island
Ibiza is known to be an island which is situated in the Mediterranean Sea . It is only 80 kilometers far away of the Spain’s coast. It is also the 3rd largest island of the Balearic Islands. But with Formentera, Ibiza island is one of the 2 Pine Islands. Most of people call the Ibiza island the White Island. The largest and the greatest cities of the White Island are Ibiza Town, Sant Antoni de Portmany and Santa Eulària des Riu.
Ibiza beaches were founded by the Carthaginians and hundreds of yars later, Ibiza has become the capital of Pine Islands.
It is a well known destination because of tis perfect climate condition and its summer club pa
rties, things which attract more and more tourists around the world. In 654 Before Christ, the Phoenician settlers have founded the Ibossim, which is a port in the Balearic Islands. Later, it was called by Romans as “Ebusus”.
During the Phoenicians time, greeks have come here and they gave for the first time the name of these 2 Ibiza’s islands: Formentera the Pityûssai.
After the decline of Phoenicians settlers, the White Island has produced salts, dyes, sauce, fishes, and wools.
