Greenwich Village

Greenwich Village is one of the mos visited districts from New York. At first, it was a plantation of tobacco situated near the Manhattan Island and whose name was given by the British naval commander, Sir Peter Warren.
In the 18th century, this commander has bought a farm surrounding.  In 1822, people have begun to more here when the yellow fever outbreak of New York city appeared. People have definitely tried to escape this bad conditions of disease. In that moment, Greenwich Village has rapidly flourished, there appeared new banks and businesses around.
The city was very populated by artists and writers who were discussing in the bars of the Greenwich Village about the political ideals.

Today, the Greenwich Village is considered a large residential area, located in the western part of Manhattan being one of the most visited from New York city.

In this village a lot of streets are narrow and they are not even numbered, only named. The Greenwich Village residents are very glad for the city to have such a famous history which nowadays is home for ex-celebrities, actors and actress. Neither restaurants or clubs don’t miss to this great image of the city.
